'Cryptophone' is our made-up term for these puzzles. They're coded messages; to find out what they say, read them out loud. (There is a certain similarity with IM or text-message conventions, but these [may] require more lateral thinking.) Note that you may have to read them in an unusual way, or pronounce a letter (or group of letters) in a certain way, or recognize some non-Latin characters...
